The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) is planning the development of a 640,000 sq ft warehouse unit or two units of around 300,000 sq ft each in Telford.
A planning application for the logistics hub has been submitted to Telford & Wrekin Council.
If approved by the planning committee this autumn, the new units will be built at the existing Telford 54 site.
This is a 78-acre site in Naird Lane, opposite the entrance to the Stafford Park Industrial Estate between Junction 4 of the M54 and Queensway.
HCA area manager for the Midlands Nick Bird said this gives his organisation the opportunity to build a new site that will complement the run of land sales and development already underway at Telford 54.
Lambert Smith Hampton is managing the development - and the firm's industrial and logistics associate director Matthew Tilt said the units "have the potential to attract major occupiers to what is a buoyant area".
