Stobart wins 14 year biomass supply deal

22 September 2015/Categories: Industry News

Stobart Group has won a 14 year index-linked contract to supply biomass for a 40MWe waste wood-fuelled plant in Port Clarence, Teesside.

Commencing in 2017, the deal will make Stobart Energy's Transport business responsible for delivering 250 loads each week to the facility.

This means the logistics firm will be required to source, process and supply 250,000 tonnes per year – and this equates to 3.5 million tonnes over the full term of the agreement.

Temporis Capital and Eco2 are the joint developers of the project - and the latter has also taken charge of a wide range of other biomass projects.

These include facilities in locations such as Margam, Sleaford, Snetterton, Port Talbot and Brigg.

Stobart itself is not involved in any financing of the project, which is being funded by private equity.
