07 October 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Aviation

A new easyJet route will allow holidaymakers in the South West to fly directly to Venice.

easyJet has announced the Italian city will be the airline's 56th destination for passengers travelling from Bristol Airport.

Flights startfrom March 23, next year and up to 50,000 passengers are expected to use the service to Venice Marco Polo Airport in its first year.

Direct flights will take off from the airport all year round up to four times a week with planes leaving on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The airline said its prices started at just £35.49 per person for a one-way ticket where there were two people booking.

Ali Gayward, easyJet's commercial manager, said: "We're really excited to be announcing our new flights to such an iconic and exciting destination from Bristol Airport.

"Venice is of course famous for being one of the most beautiful destinations in the world and there's a reason why it's top of most peoples list of places to visit.

"We're sure this will be a popular choice for our passengers in the South West and look forward to welcoming them onboard."

Shaun Browne, aviation director at Bristol Airport added: "We are delighted with this announcement as it adds one more exciting destination to easyJet's extensive route network from Bristol.

"Venice is such a unique destination we expect this route to be popular with passengers for a city break."
