The Rail Freight Group (RFG) has accused the UK and French governments of failing to protect Channel Tunnel freight services from migrants.
According to the industry body, rail freight services are being more seriously affected than ever before by the ongoing crisis at Calais.
It was noted that the planned fencing improvements will not be completed until December - more than six months after the crisis began.
RFG claimed that migrants are increasing their efforts to take advantage of the rail facility and cause freight disruptions, which means that the improved protection and increased with police and dogs currently in place are proving inadequate.
In a letter to prime minister David Cameron, RFG chairman Tony Berkeley said: "The two Governments must ensure by whatever means, UK or French army, security services or police that the Eurotunnel and SNCF terminals are fully protected as one entity."
