Work has been completed on a new bulk warehouse for Peel Ports, which is situated quayside on Alexandra Dock in Liverpool.
McLaughlin & Harvey was appointed as the main contractor on the project in March and has successfully delivered the multi-million-pound storage facility within a 26-week programme.
At 282,000 sq ft and 375 m long, the facility is the length of three-and-a-half football pitches and will be used at the port for the handling and storage of bulk cargo. It boasts 430,556 sq ft of single skin wall and roof cladding, in addition to retaining walls.
Operations manager for McLaughlin & Harvey Andy Ferguson said this is the biggest site his company has constructed to date.
"It's been a bit of a challenge with the tight 26-week programme, but as a leading port group, Peel Ports needed a high-quality storage facility which we delivered," he commented.
