Logistics vacancies on the rise

10 November 2015/Categories: Industry News

Advertised supply and logistics vacancies increased by a third in the third quarter of 2015, according to the findings of a new study.

Carried out by recruitment consultancy Robert Walters, the research specified that the highest growth in demand came from London and the south-east.

Here, vacancies were up 36 per cent - significantly higher than the corresponding figure of 11 per cent recorded in the north-west, where growth was at its lowest.

Neil Morgan, manager of supply chain recruitment at Robert Walters, said that the significant average growth in the third quarter is a very encouraging sign.

"It is evident that businesses are in a race to increase headcount in supply chain teams to take advantage of the opportunities for growth afforded by the improving economic outlook," he commented, adding that growth is normally more protracted in the summer.
