Parcel carrier Yodel is getting ready for the biggest festive peak period in the history of the industry.
Analysts have predicted that internet shopping on Black Friday will see consumer spending hit £1.07 billion - an increase of 32 per cent compared with the corresponding figure recorded last year.
Yodel has been preparing for this period for the past ten months, with heavy investment in operations being made throughout 2015.
It has also been working in collaboration with its retail partners to agree on the maximum number of packages it will accept into its network each day.
Executive chairman of Yodel Dick Stead said he wants the festive period to go as smoothly as possible and has been working hard to achieve this goal.
"There is finite capacity in the industry, and our network and so we are firmly agreeing volumes with retailers in advance, so we only receive what we’re equipped to deliver," he commented.
