Pharmaceutical group Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) has announced a two-year extension to its Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) logistics contract, covering Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America.
It has been using the K+N PharmaChain service since 2012. This is a specialised supply chain solution designed for the needs of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.
Within the scope of the new agreement, K+N will continue to manage GXP-certified full-truck-load and less-than-truck-load temperature-controlled services for pharmaceutical products on behalf of MSD.
K+N will also execute and organise the transportation of palletised pharmaceuticals from manufacturing sites to distribution centres.
Executive director of global logistics at MSD Frederic Brut said K+N has proven itself as a reliable partner.
"[It] is able to meet our challenging requirements thanks to its expertise in the pharma and healthcare industry. We are confident that our collaboration will support our growth ambitions over the next year," he commented.
