The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is pleased to announce that 100 fully accredited Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) Staying Legal courses are now available to FORS operators free of charge.

The courses are available until 30th April 2016 to all FORS accredited operators free of charge and those attending will only need to pay the DVSA upload fee of £8.75.

The course syllabus includes the following topics:

  • Operator licensing requirements
  • Regulatory framework that governs the road transport industry
  • Enforcement agencies that police non-compliant operations
  • Enforcing regulations – the targeting methods used and the common offences
  • Driver offences and the consequences of non-compliance
  • A compliant driver
  • A compliant vehicle
  • A compliant journey
  • Industry led initiatives to reduce Work Related Road Risk (WRRR)

The Staying Legal course is designed to inform all HGV drivers of the requirements to remain compliant, when driving an HGV commercially on public roads. The learning aims are to raise the overall HGV compliance standards, along with the protection of the actual Operators Licence. Staying Legal is fully DCPC accredited and amounts to a seven hour DCPC training module, towards a driver’s graduated total.

FORS operators can book their free place by visiting; www.stayinglegal.co.uk.

Further Staying Legal courses will be available after 30th April 2016, and information on course dates and how to book will be available on the Training Section of the FORS website shortly.
