General Motors chooses XPO to distribute Vauxhall parts

20 January 2016/Categories: Industry News

XPO Logistics will now distribute Vauxhall aftermarket parts for General Motors after signing a multi-million pound contract with the automotive manufacturer.

The contract is currently set for the next three years, which builds upon a 15-year working relationship between the two companies, reports Logistics Manager.

Speaking on the new contract, Peter Durham, warehouse operations manager at Vauxhall Motors, said that it was "consistently high levels of service" that led GM to work more closely with XPO.

He added that XPO's service allowed Vauxhall to "offer our dealer network a highly effective just-in-time parts distribution".

Other reasons for the extended partnership included "a range of added value services" for the benefit of the Vauxhall arm of GM's business.

One of these improvements for Vauxhall includes "secure access to an integrated IT system that provides the Vauxhall team with vital order delivery efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions", according to Mr Durham.
