In Europe there are more than a 100 transport exchanges of all kinds. There are small, specialised freight exchanges with a few users and well-established companies with several thousand users. At first glance, choosing the right freight exchange is easy: the larger the number of users registered, the greater the chance of lucrative business offers. But this assumption is not correct. To distinguish one freight exchange from another it only takes a simple calculation; for instance, Europe’s largest transport platform, TimoCom, has over 110,000 users who offer up to 500,000 freight and vehicle offers daily. This means that each user enters an average of 4.5 offers daily. Other transport exchanges increase their number of users regularly for advertisement. When looking at the number of offers in these exchanges, one will discover that in some cases an average of only 2.3 offers are placed per user. Therefore, it makes more sense to look at the daily number of offers rather than the number of users when choosing a freight and vehicle exchange. Another decisive factor when choosing a transport exchange, in addition to the number of offers, is the reliability of potential business partners within the transport exchange. TimoCom operates with a multi-level security net, including an obligatory and rigorous access check of every new customer. For more information, visit: www.timocom.co.uk
