A new rack reconfiguration technology from Flexi Warehouse Systems is set to save time and money for the day-to-day running of warehouses.

The new technology will allow adjustable pallet tracking and sprinkler systems to be more flexible throughout the warehouse, reports Logistics Manager.

Those who work in warehouses will now be able to extend, remodel and relocate pallet and sprinkler systems much more easily than they would have been able to previously.   

Usually, expanding or decreasing the width of aisles in logistics centres would have been difficult, due to the issue of hard-to-move racking runs.

As this tends to involve dismantling and rebuilding systems, it has often lead to damage to the equipment, which has had a knock-on effect on the timeline of completing projects in the warehouse.

In order to eradicate these problems, commercial director of Flexi Warehouse Systems John Maguire said that it required "rethinking the racking footprint and employing more space-efficient materials handling systems".

Speaking further, Mr Maguire said that this was one way that the Flexi system helps to ensure "that a building's storage capacity is maximised".
