Barton Willmore has secured permission to break ground in Nottinghamshire to develop a 2.5 million square foot logistics and industrial space.
Spanning 200 acres, the scheme is operating under the name of Howard South Business Park and is located close to the former Harworth Colliery, reports Logistics Manager.
Gaining permission from the Bassetlaw District Council, Barton Willmore was acting on behalf of Howard South, which will be funding the project.
It's expected that the logistics and industrial space will create 3,500 jobs, including the support of 1,700 construction jobs. The local economy is expected to generate £600 million, thanks the project's installation and subsequent completion.
Once the build has been finished, the space will be open for all relevant logistics companies and will feature land sales from five acres upwards. The spaces will be available to buy or to let and boast a height of 25 metres, which should appeal for warehousing prospects.
