International courier and delivery services company TNT is set to open a new international road hub and sorting centre that will span 600,000 square feet of space.
The new hub and sorting centre is expected to open in Dartford in the second quarter of next year, reports Logistics Manager.
Opening this new centre is part of the company's plans to invest money into its European network, which it says is the core of its business.
Steve Meadows, network and operations director for TNT UK international and Ireland, said: "The Dartford area was chosen for its strong road links and proximity to the south-east of England and Greater London."
He added that the area was also a prime location for both "ferry and Eurotunnel services", making it an optimum spot for many channels of distribution.
Mr Meadows also commented on how "delighted" the company was to be beginning a "new phase of investment in [its] network".
