Ted Baker's logistics operations move to Derby

29 February 2016/Categories: Industry News

Fashion designer and retailer Ted Baker is set to move its pan-European logistics operations to a new distribution centre near Derby.

The distribution centre is 323,000 square feet and is a high-specification warehouse that Ted Baker will be using later this year, reports Logistics Manager.

Plans for the distribution centre are to be completed in May and it will serve as the main European hub for Ted Baker's retail, wholesale and e-commerce operations.

Ted Baker's sales figures have seen a spike over the past year, with its retail figures increasing by 10.6 per cent over Christmas 2015. During the same period, its ecommerce figures saw an uplift of 39 per cent.

The brand has 400 stores and concessions worldwide, but analysts have said that it still has room to expand.

The new distribution centre will operate 24 hours every day and boasts enough capacity to support Ted Baker's long-term plans for growth. It will also provide 250 new jobs in the Derby region.
