Truck rental company Ryder has forged a new contract hire partnership with BJS Storage & Distribution.

As part of the new deal, Ryder will deliver 50 new tri-axle trailers that are to replace older vehicles in BJS's current 120 trailer fleet, reports Logistics Manager.

Richard Hall, director at BJS, said: "As our business expands it is essential to have modern high-specification equipment in the fleet to ensure we can always meet customer requirements."

He continued: "Our trucks operated nationally and as our business continues to grow it was becoming increasingly important to have a first-class nationwide breakdown and repair solution in place."

Giving his thoughts on the partnership, Robin White, Ryder's sales and marketing director, commented that the brand has been seeing a lot of interest in form logistics firms and haulage contractors of late.

He feels that this is due to Ryder having "one of the largest rental and contract hire trailer fleets in the UK", which allows the company to deliver a large supply of new trailers.
