Anglian Water has gone out to tender with a contract for logistics services to support its operations and capital delivery alliances worth up to £9.5 million. The Anglian region stretches from the Humber, north of Grimsby, to the Thames estuary and then from Buckinghamshire to Lowestoft on the east coast. The contract includes the provision of 24 hours, seven days a week delivery of emergency items to site if required across its region. Anglian also services Hartlepool Water and service levels for this area will be determined during the tender process. The water company is currently exploring 2 options either utilising a third party warehouse or AWS leasing a warehouse to be run by a third party provider. Both options will require the supplier to provide a warehouse management system, transport and staff. The initial contract period is for five years with a further three year extension option. Estimated value is put at between £4 million to £9.5 million.
