RCS Logistics Training Scheme Sees First Driver Qualify

13 April 2016/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Logistics & Supply Chain

In April 2016, Mark Piper of RCS Logistics became the first graduate of their new driver training scheme.

The initiative was adopted to help their drivers to progress and improve upon their skills through support in training and qualifications. In 2016, RCS Logistics aims to nominate a number of their other drivers for further training at all levels including HGV class 1.

Having joined the company in 2005 as a van driver and progressing to a 7.5T vehicle driver to support their network operations in 2012, Mark has been with the company for over 11 years. In recognition of his outstanding legal compliance, accident record and work ethic, he was put forward to complete his Class 2 licence with Carole’s LGD Driver Training. Having successful completed his Hazzard Perception and LGV Theory Test, he passed his Class 2 test with just 3 minors.

Simon Westley, Transport Manager at RCS Logistics, added, “It is great to see a member of the team step up and complete training which not only benefits Mark but RCS Logistics as a whole. We at RCS Logistics are committed to developing our colleagues; it keeps knowledge within the business and continues to make us an employer of choice.”
