Aldi receives Roadworthiness Award from the FTA

27 April 2016/Categories: Industry News

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has presented grocery retailer Aldi with a Roadworthiness Award.

According to the panel who gave out the award, Aldi won the accolade in recognition of the high standards it has to maintain its fleet of vehicles and trailers.

The award was presented at the CV Show at the NEC Birmingham yesterday (26th April) by David Wells, chief executive of the FTA.

A prestigious awards event, it acknowledges FTA members who keep their fleets safe, legal and efficient by recognising the importance of maintaining a high standard of freight vehicle conditions.

Mr Wells said: "This award reflects the high standards of the [Aldi Stores Limited] Group, and I would like to congratulate all involved for the efforts they obviously make to ensure that their fleet is safe, legal and efficient at all times."

On receiving the award, logistics director at Aldi Atherstone Andy GIllies commented that the company is "incredibly proud" and that it considers safety a "high priority" of the work it does.
