Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) welcomes Busmark

04 May 2016/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Active Travel & Travel Planning, Bus & Coach, Transport Planning

Busmark, the benchmarking club offered by the Bus and Coach Forum of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), recently held their quarterly member meeting in Manchester.

At the meeting Councillor Andrew Fender, Chair, Transport for Greater Manchester Committee of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, emphasised that good services are essential in Greater Manchester and endorsed the values of Busmark. He said: ‘I would recommend this club to operators not currently within membership.’

Mike Renshaw, Executive Director, Transport for Greater Manchester, echoed Councillor Andrew Fender’s remarks stressing that the Authority and TfGM saw collaboration and partnership as essential.

Busmark, developed by bus and coach practitioners, specifically for the bus and coach sector continues to attract many of the top companies in the UK, following its launch last year. The latest members to join the club are the award winning operators Brighton & Hove Bus and Coach Company and Metrobus.

Fleet sizes range from 12 vehicles to over 1,600 vehicle fleets. Busmark members operate in excess of 13,000 buses and coaches. Members are based in UK and Ireland.

Adrian de Courcey FCILT, CEO, Travel de Courcey Ltd and Chair, Busmark Steering Group, said: ‘We are delighted with the growth of Busmark, which is exceeding all expectations. It’s particularly pleasing that TfL, and now TfGM, are backing the values of this club and I urge all operators, regardless of fleet size, to get engaged within the Busmark benchmarking club.’
