New transport bill to provide "major boost for UK manufacturing"

24 May 2016/Categories: Industry News

One of the key announcements in the British government's agenda for the coming session was the Modern Transport Bill, which is set to change the face of the automotive technology industry in the UK.

The announcement was made in the Queen's Speech last week, which states that there would be measures to encourage investment in driverless cars and electric cars, among other areas, reports Global Manufacturing.

Jonathan Dudley, head of manufacturing business at Crowe Clark Whitehill, commented: "This is good news for the UK manufacturing sector, which has the skills and now the opportunity to make a big impact in all these areas."

He added that he anticipates that the driverless car sector will experience a surge in growth and incentives from various manufacturers throughout the country.

Mr Dudley also believes that as a result of these reforms being outlined in the Queen's Speech, it has been demonstrated that the UK is ready for manufacturing on a global scale.
