French Connection hands $40m contract to MIQ Logistics

28 June 2016/Categories: Industry News

Fashion retailer French Connection has awarded a five-year inbound logistics deal worth $40 million (£29.9million) to supply chain specialist MIQ Logistics.

MIQ will provide management and multimodel transport services from French Connections factories in Asia, India, Turkey, Romania and Poland to stores in Europe and North America, as well as wholesalers in 50 other countries.

Additionally, MIQ will also manage French Connection’s primary 150,000 sq ft distribution centre in Essex, and provide global visibility for storage keeping units.

Speaking to logistics news site The Loadstar, MIQ Logistics UK managing director Andrew Martin said that French Connection can expect enhanced security, control and visibility throughout the contract.

He said: “We think we can offer better service levels than the multinational companies because our approach is based on the feel of a local company.

“We are not constrained by the ratios that the larger corporates are, and our core value is trying to do more for the customer than anyone else.”

Steve Prangnell, French Connection’s group director of supply chain and logistics, added that supply chain performance is critical for the brand.

“I am confident that with MIQ Logistics, we have found a partner that has the people, resources and determination to strip out inefficiencies and take our supply chain to a new level,” he added.

Headquartered in Kansas, MIQ’s logistics operations span the globe with offices in Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America.
