13 July 2016/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain, Operations Management

GEFCO UK has continued its rapid expansion within the transport and logistics arena with the appointment of a new Managing Director, to help continue and steer its direction of growth.

Zsolt Vecsera has a wealth of logistics industry experience, having held the position of Managing Director at GEFCO Hungary since March 2011. Prior to joining GEFCO Hungary, Zsolt was Managing Director at Raben Logistics having previously spent over six years at Waberer’s Holding Plc, as Group Key Account Director.

Along with a high level of expertise and industry experience, Zsolt brings with him significant business acumen, having successfully doubled the revenue and profit of GEFCO Hungary in only five years. Indeed, his experience over the past 15 years managing large teams in Europe positions him well as he starts to identify further growth opportunities for GEFCO in the UK and beyond.

Zsolt said of his appointment: “I am delighted to be taking on this new role at GEFCO UK, particularly at such an exciting and progressive period for the company. Having spent time with the GEFCO family previously, I am well placed to face the exciting challenges that lie ahead and I look forward to working with the team to ensure we continue to create strong and sustainable growth.”

Marc Cahingt, Executive Vice President Western Europe and Mediterranean adds: “We are incredibly excited to welcome Zsolt to the team. His track record within the industry speaks for itself, and we feel this is the perfect fit for GEFCO UK, if we are to keep progressing and evolving within the transport and logistics space.”
