What is ARE?

"ARE is a safe and valuable space for current and aspiring leaders from the operating railway... to meet our industry's pivotal leaders, broaden their network of contacts, and share knowledge..."

             - Richard Brown CBE, President, ARE

The Association of Rail Executives (ARE), part of CILT(UK), provides a unique networking forum for the rail industry leaders of today, and in the future. We bring together leaders from all sectors of the industry to provide a unique opportunity to share ideas and experiences across a wide spectrum of elite contacts. We invite prominent industry leaders to address our meetings and lead discussion around topical issues, under the Chatham House Rule.

Membership to ARE is an exclusive benefit for senior members and rising stars of the rail industry*, where high profile information is shared in an elite networking setting. As part of your ARE membership, up to eight company delegates can attend each ARE event.

We know how important development is to your career, which is why each ARE event now gives you additional CPD hours to count towards your yearly professional development.

*Subject to eligibility

About us

The Association of Railway Executives gives our industry’s top leaders a unique chance to meet and discuss important topical issues.

Membership of ARE is typically limited to Directors plus their nominated direct reports. Members are invited to attend four events per year.

We are supported by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport where you can find links to rail sector specific events, relevant qualifications, training and courses.

Our events are held four times a year in Central London and are a rare opportunity to network with a wide range of other senior leaders in an exclusive environment.
