DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a General Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements.   

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

The Widnes site is a brand new facility  that will become the flagship from JLR freight in the UK, working in partnership with our customer, leading the freight team to create a best in class facility, efficient, sustainable freight operation

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

  • Responsible for building high-performing, well-engaged teams to deliver business objectives across all dimensions, including people, financial, customer, and operations
  • To build and maintain high performing relationships with client, senior management and key stakeholders
  • Delivering excellence through our 5 year strategic plan, maximise the performance of site operations to meet client and DHL requirements
  • Running a safe site and ensuring a Safety First Culture with all individuals on site by applying the DHL Safety Standards and driving continuous improvement year-on-year
  • To build and maintain high performing relationships with client senior management and key stakeholders. Listening and acting upon the Voice Of The Customer

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

  • General Management experience from a Transport (preferable) or Warehouse environment
  • Project/change management experience on a large scale
  • Experience leading, developing and motivating a team
  • Excellent customer engagement and relationship management skills
  • Experience developing effective working relationship with Trade Unions
