Position Description: Solution Development Manager for Automated Distribution and Fulfilment Centres


Circa. £80,000 – £90,000pa + excellent package

Fantastic opportunity for a Logistics Solution Design / Development Manager / Innovation Project Manager to join an established project team in the design and development of innovative solutions for logistics automation, MHE, assets, equipment and processes which will form the basis of our Automated Distribution and Fulfilment Centres and last mile delivery solutions.

This innovative organisation is looking to further build its high-performing team to support continuing growth. You will be joining a dynamic technology and automated solutions provider that supports some of the world’s largest and well-recognised organisations in the Food FMCG/retail sectors.

No two days will be the same as you utilise your technical, operational improvement or project background to develop a range of logistics solutions. The scope of the role covers developing concepts, sourcing solutions and project managing the development and delivery cycle including evaluation, business case, design, solution integration, prototyping, testing and production within the required programme, budget and operational parameters. Additionally, you will develop the operational processes for the site, and provide clear and detailed requirements to support the development of the IT scope.

Applicants need proven project management experience and strong leadership skills. You will also need a strong track record in automated warehouse/distribution centre/fulfilment centre design, operation or project delivery and a detailed understanding of warehouse process and operations in that environment. It’s also a given that you will have high levels of financial acumen with experience of making an input into financial/budgetary models. Excel skills to an advanced level would be a distinct advantage.
