Since the last presentation earlier this year, the Grade Separation phase of the Norton Bridge project is rapidly taking shape. We shall hear a quick recap of the design, development and option selection process then focus on the last year of construction. Photographs, video footage and time lapse photography will be used to show how this extensive new piece of railway infrastructure is taking shape in the Staffordshire countryside. Subjects will include earthworks logistics, use of the 'New Track Construction Train', the track and signalling stage works methodology plus techniques for managing major blockade works to reduce disruption of the national rail network.
This is a joint meeting with the Institution of Civil Engineers.
