Start Date:13 Jan 2021
End Date:13 Jan 2021
Event Code:TVG0400

When: 13 January 2021, 19:30 - 20:30
Where: Zoom Webinar
Speaker: Paul Le Blond – Chair, CILT Aviation Policy Group

Paul Le Blond has over 40 years’ experience in the air and rail transport industries. With BAA from 1970 to 2001, he was involved with many public inquires into airport development, and latterly with Heathrow Express as Rail Strategy Director. From 2001 until February 2003 he was Eurostar's Director of Strategy. From 2003 to 2015 he was a consultant and then retired in 2015.

The talk will be based on Paul Le Blond’s book ‘Inside London’s Airports Policy’ which looks at the background, then describes how consultations, studies, inquiries and commissions led to decisions about the development of London’s airports. Having reached a decision point in 2018, the strategy has been completely changed in 2020 by court decisions and the coronavirus pandemic.

The Thames Valley Group are always keen to enjoy a relaxed informal environment in their events but unfortunately cannot move to the pub after the presentation as normal. Participants are therefore encouraged to bring the beverage of their choice to the webinar.
