Rural Policy Group
As an Institute that focuses on transport and logistics we know that reaching more remote places is as important as helping to reduce congestion in the hugely busy spaces. We also know that there are challenges in achieving a great level of service for rural areas that is efficient and supports sustainable transport facilities which truly meet specific local requirements.
Whether its developing sustainable bus routes or making sure rural business can reach their customers, many colleagues are grappling with developing solutions that meet the real needs of rural communities. The aim of this session is to bring different groups together to discuss some of these shared challenges, focusing on the solutions that will help shape the future rural transport agenda.
The session includes speakers from CILT’s Rural Policy Group as well as Sharon Payne from Transport East and Callum Reddington from Transport for the North, two of the prominent subnational transport bodies who are putting effort into better understanding how to support rural areas. The session will also allow for time to discuss some of the solutions organisations are working on to help step up to the challenges.
The session will be held on line on 14th March 8:30 - 10:00 https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMtcO2pqD4vHNaUOCr-E_AnNNqVcRF2r2te and we are really hoping for a wide range of attendees so we can have some lively and productive discussion.
