This culminated in the network moving into a £30million distribution Hub in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, in January 2009.

The new Hub is the ‘jewel in the crown' for Palletforce, and at 400,000sq ft is now the largest centre of its kind in the UK (and one of the biggest in Europe) - packed with innovative technology developed by its directors and staff. These innovations have benefited the entire transport industry and include the development of ‘Super Forklifts' and a special safety trailer for higher ‘double deck' lorries.

One of the network's biggest strengths is that the membership can optimize vehicle usage and operating time...and by working together they can offer high quality, flexible logistics solutions.

Last September HRH The Princess Royal visited the Hub to see the company's incredible achievements which also now include a ‘hat-trick' of ISO accreditations and a RoSPA Gold Safety Award.

Success has also flowed to the bottom line: the company celebrated a 30% increase in volumes in 2010 - with a 41% record-breaking volume increase recorded in a single night.

The network has come on its own incredible journey, has seized opportunities, achieved excellence - and all at a time when hauliers are facing huge pressure due to the toughest recession in a lifetime.
