Palletforce has undergone nothing short of a dramatic transformation which has propelled the express palletised distribution network into a market-leading position.
Formed just nine years ago, the company has built up a quality network of shareholder members throughout the whole of the UK, Ireland and Europe, who all have a stake in ensuring it achieves great things.
This culminated in the network moving into a £30million distribution Hub in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, in January 2009.
The move has been a catalyst for innovation, greater efficiency, safety improvements and an impressive list of new contract wins from global brands.
The new Hub is the ‘jewel in the crown' for Palletforce, and at 400,000sq ft is now the largest centre of its kind in the UK (and one of the biggest in Europe) - packed with innovative technology developed by its directors and staff. These innovations have benefited the entire transport industry and include the development of ‘Super Forklifts' and a special safety trailer for higher ‘double deck' lorries.
One of the network's biggest strengths is that the membership can optimize vehicle usage and operating time...and by working together they can offer high quality, flexible logistics solutions.
Last September HRH The Princess Royal visited the Hub to see the company's incredible achievements which also now include a ‘hat-trick' of ISO accreditations and a RoSPA Gold Safety Award.
Success has also flowed to the bottom line: the company celebrated a 30% increase in volumes in 2010 - with a 41% record-breaking volume increase recorded in a single night.
The network has come on its own incredible journey, has seized opportunities, achieved excellence - and all at a time when hauliers are facing huge pressure due to the toughest recession in a lifetime.
