London Luton Airport extends free WiFi

03 August 2016/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Aviation

Passengers flying through London Luton Airport (LLA) can now enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi for up to four hours.

The service, provided by Arqiva, means that LLA now enables passengers to access complimentary internet access for significantly longer than Stansted (60 minutes) and Gatwick (90 minutes), and as long as Heathrow.

To complement the extended period of free Wi-Fi, passengers can now also charge their electronic devices for free at the airport. LLA has become the first UK airport to partner with Chargebox to provide free secure mobile charging stations. Located in the departure lounge, the two charging stations offer a simple two-step “Connect & Lock” process to ensure that passengers can travel with a full battery and peace of mind.

The changes are just some of the ways that LLA is transforming the passenger experience through the airport’s £110million redevelopment. LLA is flying to more destinations than ever before, with 16 airlines serving 123 destinations.

Rupert Lawrie, Commercial Director at LLA, said: “As part of our £110million transformation, we’re introducing a range of improvements to create the most enjoyable and convenient travel experience for passengers. Staying connected is important to our customers, whether they are travelling for business or pleasure. That’s why we are extending our free Wi-Fi as well as helping people charge their phones ahead of their flight”.
