Emirates boosts Manchester capacity with third A380

10 August 2016/Categories: Industry News

Emirates will increase flight capacity into Manchester by 11 per cent when the airline deploys a third daily A380 in the new year.

From January 2017, the Boeing 777-300ER will be replaced by the iconic A380 double decker aircraft, which means all Emirates flights between Dubai and Manchester will be operated entirely using A380s.

This also means that Emirates can offer an extra 2,198 seats a week between the two destinations for business and leisure travellers, a move which could see the airline surpass the one million passenger mark this financial year.

With enough space for 517 passengers over three classes, the A380 has 14 private first class suites, 76 flat-bed business class suites, and 427 economy seats.

All A380 passengers have access to free Wi-Fi and more than 2,500 channels, offering films, TV shows, music and games, as part of a package that was recently named the world’s best inflight entertainment at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

Manchester is clearly considered to be an important destination by Emirates, operating 21 flights a week to popular destinations like Bangkok, Perth, Singapore and Mumbai.
