As Night Tube services begin on the Jubilee line, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has confirmed that they will launch on the Northern line next month.

The Mayor also revealed that nearly three-quarters of a million journeys – beating original predictions – have been made on the Central and Victoria line Night Tube services since they began in August, with hundreds of thousands of Londoners benefitting from quicker and easier journeys to and from work and London’s night life.

Tonight, the Jubilee line becomes the third service to be launched, providing links to key venues like The O2 and Wembley Stadium, as well as cultural venues along the South Bank, as it runs from Stanmore to Stratford.

Northern line services will run from High Barnet and Edgware, via the Charing Cross branch, to Morden, from Friday 18 November. This will help even more Londoners travel to and from work, as well as helping those accessing the capital’s iconic nightlife venues; from the vibrant music scene in Camden to bars and restaurants in Clapham via world-class culture in the West End.    

The Night Tube is already cutting journeys by an average of 20 minutes, with some cut by more than an hour. The services are playing a vital role in opening up London's night-time economy, boosting it by £77m a year and supporting around 2,000 permanent jobs. This positive impact has already seen increased footfall on Oxford Street and the West End.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “There was a real buzz from when we launched the first Night Tube services in August, and I am delighted that the Jubilee line services are now up and running. Hundreds of thousands of Londoners have already benefited, and it’s  great news that so many more will now be able to enjoy our world-class cultural venues on the South Bank, as well as venues such as The O2 and Wembley Stadium, without needing to make that late dash for the last Tube. Being from Tooting, I’m also really looking forward to the start of services on the Northern line next month.”

Mark Wild, London Underground’s Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted that we are now able to bring the Night Tube to our Jubilee line customers, following the successful launch of the Central and Victoria line services this summer. Introducing the Night Tube on the Northern line next month will be another step forward for London, opening up new opportunities for Tube customers to enjoy even more of what London has to offer.”‎

People coming to our Riverfront Lates, live music and DJ nights at BFI Southbank, or the All-nighter events or midnight screenings at BFI IMAX, can enjoy themselves even more knowing they can hop on the Tube at Waterloo for a quicker and easier journey home.”

Steve Ball, Owner of the Jazz Café, said: “Camden is an area that’s long been valued as a hub for nightlife in our city. It’s fantastic the Night Tube will be servicing the area and we’re looking forward to the positive impact it will have.” 

Jimmy Garcia, celebrity chef and owner of The Lodge, Clapham, said: “We're delighted to know that our customers can now get home safely on the Tube all night, which will make this winter’s nights longer, busier and more fun for all.”

Mike Hamer, Operations Manager at KOKO, said: “We are over the moon with the launch of the Night Tube. It will be fantastic not only for our staff getting home at night, but also for dispersal of our customers after gigs and events, many of whom have had to leave before the end of a concert to ensure they can get home.”

Making it easier to get around throughout the night will only cement Camden’s position as a great night-time destination.”     
    
TfL is also introducing two completely new bus routes to complement the Jubilee line Night Tube service.
 
Route 114 will travel between Mill Hill and Ruislip Station, via Queensbury, Harrow and South Harrow.  The 183 will operate between Golders Green and Pinner, calling at Kingsbury and Harrow.  Both will run every half an hour through the night on Friday and Saturdays.

Passengers using the south eastern end of the Jubilee line will be able take advantage of TfL’s extensive network of night buses already serving the area.
