Fever-Tree Provides Further Tonic To Downton

30 November 2016/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Logistics & Supply Chain

Fever-Tree has been one of the drinks trade’s biggest success stories. Launched just eleven years ago, it is now the world’s leading supplier of premium tonic and carbonated mixers by retail sales value and one of the fastest growing drinks businesses. Its products are served in seven of the world’s top ten restaurants.

Under the contract Downton will be moving loads from Fever-Tree’s production sites in Shepton Mallet and Kendal to its brand new 15,700m2 Sharpness distribution centre in Gloucestershire. From Sharpness, Downton will be running Fever-Tree’s order picking operation and handling onward distribution to the company’s nationwide customer base.

Andrew Downton, MD of CM Downton, said: “We believe our industry-leading drinks operation gives Fever-Tree the perfect infrastructure for future growth, and we very much hope this is a relationship that will continue for many years to come.”

Stewart Bray, Supply Chain Director at Fever-Tree, said: “After going through a detailed tender process we were very happy to select Downton as our logistics solution provider in the UK. Downton has successfully moved Fever-Tree’s operation into its new facility and we look forward to further developing our partnership in the future.”

The Fever-Tree contract adds to a number of food and drink wins and extensions that have boosted Downton’s market share in the sector over the past 12 months.
