Robin Proctor FCILT is to become the next President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) in the UK. He will take up the one-year presidency from Will Whitehorn FCILT on 12th May at the CILT President’s Inauguration.

Commenting on his appointment, Robin Proctor said: ‘It is an honour to be chosen to become President of CILT(UK). This is an important time for our profession; innovation in mobile technologies has placed transport and logistics performance at the heart of business propositions, and investment in innovation, infrastructure and skills is required during this time of economic uncertainty. I hope to play an active role in leading change and promoting CILT’s influence as we head into this exciting era for the logistics and transport profession.’

CILT(UK)’s outgoing President Will Whitehorn said: ‘It has been a privilege to be President of CILT during a year that has produced so many momentous events. I am delighted that Robin is to become the Institute’s next President and I look forward to working with him closely to continue to drive the culture of innovation within logistics and transport.’

Robin Proctor’s career spans supply chain and e-commerce roles with some of the UK’s biggest FTSE 100 and 250 retailers, including Sainsbury’s, Iceland, Booker, MFI/Howdens, Wickes and Travis Perkins.

For the last 10 years, he has been the Executive Director, Travis Perkins Group plc. Most recently, as Group Development Director he has supported new and emerging businesses, including Toolstation.co.uk, Bathrooms.com and Tilegiant.co.uk.

He is passionate about developing the leaders and innovators of the future, regularly speaking at events to inspire the audience to transform business performance through motivated colleagues delivering supply chain and digital innovation.

Kevin Richardson FCILT, Chief Executive, CILT(UK), welcomed the new President, saying: ‘Robin’s expertise and experience means he is well placed to help deliver the critical message of the importance of the profession in his role as President of CILT(UK). I look forward to working with him during what will be a challenging year for all of us.’

Robin Proctor is a visiting Fellow at Cranfield University, a member of the Cranfield Supply Chain Advisory Board, Supporter of the Novus Trust, holds a Retail Week Supply Chain Leader of the Year award and is an active supporter of the Whizz-Kidz mobility charity.
