Cranfield Professor identified as top UK logistics professional in 2017

Professor Richard Wilding OBE, Cranfield School of Management, has won the Logistics100 award at the annual Logistics Awards.  The award singles out an individual from the Logistics100, the definitive list of the industry’s 100 most influential individuals, who have created the most significant impact in the previous year.

Professor Wilding was commended at the awards for driving change in the industry, and delivering a vision that engaged with the logistics sector to promote best practice. The award was presented to him at an awards ceremony at The Grange St. Pauls Hotel in London.

Logistics enables local deliveries and international trade and is a foundation of the UK  economy. The UK logistics industry has an annual turnover of £1 trillion and employs 8% of the UK workforce.

Professor Lynette Ryals, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director, School of Management, said: “This award is highly deserved. For almost 20 years, Richard has been instrumental in developing the School’s highly successful logistics programmes which attract students from across the world.

“Richard is a key part of our logistics and supply chain educational and research offering which continues to go from strength to strength.”
