The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Ian Chisholm, Chief Executive, Society of Operations Engineers (SOE).

Kevin Richardson FCILT, Chief Executive, CILT(UK), said: “On behalf of the Institute, I offer my condolences to Ian’s family, friends and colleagues. This is a big loss to the SOE and to the wider profession. Ian’s energy, experience and expertise will be sorely missed by us all.”

Beverley Bell CBE FCILT, Patron, SOE and past-President, CILT, said: “I knew Ian for many years and throughout that time he always acted professionally and with the interests of SOE at heart. He was a man of complete integrity and his commitment to SOE was second to none. Everyone who worked with him thoroughly enjoyed his company, his down to earth approach and his dry sense of humour.”
