CILT is pleased to announce the successful incorporation of Women in Logistics UK (WiL), with effect from 1st March 2018.
CILT and WiL will be joining forces to create a ground-breaking new forum that will promote diversity and inclusion within the profession.
The newly formed Women in Logistics Forum will provide opportunities for the logistics and transport profession, and other key stakeholders, to support women working in the sector and identify and address the challenges to recruitment and retention. The Forum will continue to create an engaging and motivational platform to raise awareness of gender equality throughout the profession.
WiL members who become CILT members will benefit from the additional relevance, resources and global reach that comes from integrating the activities of both membership bodies.
The Forum will put on networking and professional development events and provide an inclusive and encouraging environment to nurture female talent within the sector.
Kevin Richardson FCILT, Chief Executive, CILT(UK), said: “I am delighted to welcome Women in Logistics as part of CILT. We are looking forward to working closely with the Forum to display a united front and portray our profession as the home of equal opportunities for all genders.”
Richard Atkinson CBE FCILT, Director of Marketing and Communications, CILT(UK), said: “The incorporation of Women in Logistics within CILT is both progressive and essential. This is central to CILT’s strategy, which includes promoting diversity of thought, inclusivity and advancing the best people for the best jobs.”
Ruth Waring FCILT, Founder, Women in Logistics, and Chair of the new forum said: “I am very excited about the incorporation. It provides a huge opportunity to our current and future members to better engage with and understand the sector.”
