After starting at University of Huddersfield in 2013, and expanding into Aston University in 2017, NOVUS is bringing its “NOVUS Lite” offer to the University of Derby. NOVUS Lite provides students studying courses with a logistics, supply chain or operations management component with summer placements and placements for their third year. Additional benefits include guest lectures, mentoring and exposure to the 25 sponsor companies that support NOVUS for graduate employment.
The University of Derby is a modern UK university located in the East Midlands, the heart of the logistics sector. The university has been running undergraduate and postgraduate courses in logistics and supply chain management since 2015 and has a long-standing record as a centre of excellence in logistics and supply chain management. John Day, Senior Lecturer at the University of Derby, said: “We’re pleased to announce our partnership with NOVUS! It’s a fantastic opportunity for our students who’ll benefit from mentoring, industry visits, paid summer work experience and paid industrial placements in their third year. We’re serious about getting our students started in their careers and the NOVUS Lite scheme will allow employers to be directly involved in student recruitment at an early stage”.
Having seen its first cohort of graduates in July 2016, NOVUS is committed to providing superlative graduates as the long term, strategic answer to the serious skills gaps and shortfall of graduate talent evident in the logistics profession.
Wincanton, Arla,, DHL, CEVA Logistics, asos, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, PZ Cussons and Hoyer are just some of the 25 NOVUS sponsor companies giving NOVUS students placements and associated benefits.
