Participate in Direct Vision Standard for HGVs research

06 November 2018/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain, Transport Planning

Transport for London (TfL) is in the process of finalising proposals for the Mayor’s Direct Vision Standard and HGV safety permit scheme. From October 2020, all vehicles over 12 tonne gvw will require a safety permit to enter Greater London. Vehicles rated one star or above by the Direct Vision Standard will be granted permits. Vehicles rated zero star will only be granted a permit if they are fitted with a ‘safe system’ of mitigating measures such as cameras, sensors and audible alarms. Further information on the scheme proposals can be found at: www.tfl.gov.uk/direct-vision-HGVs

TfL invites you to participate in a brief online survey to help them understand your insight and experience with the technology proposed as part of the ‘safe system’. The survey is for operators (managers), drivers and technology suppliers. Please pass this email on to any appropriate contacts in these categories:

The results of the survey will feed into the final proposals and guidance which will be presented in the final stage of public consultation in January 2019. Further information on this consultation will follow.

Please complete the survey by 5pm on Tuesday 13 November.
