Saffron Walden-based Garrett Transport has become the latest family-owned business to join the Pallet-Track network.
Founded in 1995, the company, which has established impeccable credentials with blue-chip clients including the John Lewis Partnership, becomes the 87th member of the award-winning Midlands-based network.
Based in Little Walden, Essex, the company, which invented and patented the award-winning PalletSock, an innovative and environmentally-friendly reusable pallet sleeve to protect goods in transit, will cover the CB postcodes which encompass Essex and Cambridgeshire regions, including Ely.
Garrett Transport, which used to be part of the PalletForce network, will commence its Pallet-Track commitments in August 2019.
Managing director Simon Garrett said: “We had a good relationship with PalletForce, but it was time for a change as we take the next step in our business development. I particularly like the member involvement with Pallet-Track and the ethos of the network as it shares many of our own objectives in terms of quality of service and the strategic use of technology.
“We are a completely different type of business to what we were five years ago and it is this evolving corporate landscape that will help us to continue to expand our business. I believe this move will help us to continue to diversify and develop,” said Simon.
The development of the FORS Bronze award holding Garretts, which has more than 20 trucks and three hubs, was accelerated by the acquisition of Hicks Transport in 2008. Its customers include Royal Warrant-holding lawn mower manufacturers Hayter, and world-famous toy store Hamleys.
