LATEST NEWS

Corporate Membership of CILT has grown significantly over the last two years. The roster now stands at more than 156 organisations and academic institutions from across all the sectors the Institute represents.

This year, CILT is inviting representatives from all of its Corporate Members to come together on Friday 3rd April at Wyboston Lakes, Bedfordshire, to celebrate being a member at one of the Institute’s best networking events. This national event, the first of our calendar, will take on a new look for 2020 to cater for its increasing attendance and popularity. Traditionally a day of celebration as corporate representatives receive their membership plaques, to mark the dawn of the Institute’s second century, we are making several changes to the format.

This year, only Corporate Member Day debutants will be awarded with their membership plaques. The occasion will be packed with keynote presentations, interactive question-and-answer sessions and networking opportunities, as we explore the subject of: Leading change in a changing world: people, technology and corporate social responsibility.

Delegates will hear from speakers led by Dr James Bellini, renowned futurologist and television presenter of The Money Programme, Newsnight and Panorama. His expertise lies in using the perspectives of history to analyse current realities and explore the shape of things to come.

Confirmed speakers

Our confirmed speakers are notable experts from the fields of human resources, corporate social responsibility and technological innovation.

  • Richard Cowlishaw, Clipper Logistics will discuss the impact of people in today's organisations
  • Richard Potter, Microsoft, will analyse the potential impacts of technology on the profession
  • Kirsten Donkin, PD Ports, will look into the importance of CSR in attracting and retaining talent

Following an opportunity for delegates to digest and discuss what they had to say, each speaker will return to facilitate open workshops during which members will have the chance to cooperate on their own ideas.

Speaking at last year’s Corporate Member Day, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, said: ‘The Corporate Member Day is very much an opportunity to show exactly what the Institute was set up to do, which was that all transport and logisticians should get together from time to time to understand that the issues they may be facing are common, not as competitors, but as people sharing and understanding best practice and gaining from the knowledge available. The opportunities presented to you through CILT in supporting Corporate Members now are considerable.’

Corporate Members are the bedrock of CILT, working alongside all nine of the Institute’s Professional Sectors to promote the importance of the profession in ensuring a successful economy by encouraging best practice. Their support is essential to the work and development of CILT, and your contribution to the Institute is key to its continued success in developing and supporting commercial activities within the profession.

Paul Sainthouse, President, CILT(UK), says: ‘Our sectors are a critical social provision of valuable materials to society every day and in supporting and enabling growth of the UK’s economy. We can consider our sector as the blood flowing through the country’s veins delivering a wide variety of products, people and solutions, and it is my view that CILT and its Corporate Members are at the heart of everything we do to keep this country moving.’

Exclusive to Corporate Members, this event will help you and your organisation be noticed, be connected and forge ahead.
