Gumtree has teamed up with Parcel2Go to enable the easy exchange of second-hand goods without the need to leave home. Gumtree will donate all revenue generated from the partnership during the lockdown period to the Crisis ‘In this Together’ emergency fund.

Since the Government’s social distancing guidelines came in, Gumtree has been urging its buyers and sellers to heed advice and use electronic payments and delivery services rather than in person collections for essential items. From today though, people can instantly link to a range of affordable, contactless small parcel and package pick up and drop off options making it simple and safe to trade second-hand goods.

In these unprecedented, uncertain times, that sense of a local support network has never been so important, and we are committed to doing everything we can to help people help each other in a safe and sustainable way.

“With this partnership we wanted to make it as easy as possible for people to exchange essential items in a safe and socially responsible way whilst giving back to those most in need at this difficult time. Gumtree is also more than a platform for trading; many of its users are making use of its community feature offering local help and using the site to find jobs working from home and in essential roles.
