Go North West is celebrating receiving ‘We’re Good To Go’ certification – a UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark launched by Visit Britain to recognise travel, tourism and hospitality companies excelling in the areas of safety and cleanliness.
The new industry standard and supporting mark means businesses across the sector can demonstrate that they are adhering to the respective government and public health guidance, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and check they have the required processes in place.
Go North West is one of the first bus companies in the UK to be awarded the industry standard certification. Amongst recent innovations, the company has recently launched ‘When 2 Travel’, a new microsite driven by ticket machine data and travel pattern analysis to accurately predict how busy buses will be, and in addition to social distancing measures, has introduced an exact fare system on board to limit the exchange of cash on board.
Jon Croxford, Operations and Commercial Director at Go North West, said: “We’re really proud to have achieved Visit Britain’s ‘Good To Go’ industry standard. Right from the start of the coronavirus crisis, we have introduced measures to help keep our customers and colleagues safe, introducing ‘in service’ cleans at Shudehill bus station and at key points on our network amongst other measures.”
“With services now operating at over 80% of their normal timetables, we hope this award will help to reassure our customers that our buses are clean, safe and open for business. We’re here to support our local economy by getting our city moving again”.
