CILT members invited to offer free advice to support small businesses back to business

05 August 2020/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Aviation, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain, Operations Management, Coronavirus

CILT has been in discussion with Enterprise Nation to launch the Recovery Advice for Business scheme, launched to assist SMEs with Covid-19 business recovery.

The scheme is a partnership between the Professional Business Services Sector and Enterprise Nation, supported by The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, and aims to offer thousands of SMEs free advice to help them recover from the impacts of the coronavirus crisis.

The initiative gives small firms access to free, one-to-one advice with an expert adviser to help them through the coronavirus pandemic and to prepare for long-term recovery.

The business support platform links professional qualified consultants to small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) in England looking for specialist assistance on logistics, manufacturing, supplies, exporting, accountancy, legal, marketing, recruitment and digital to help businesses adapt to difficult circumstances and to bounce back as the UK economy recovers.

Through the Recovery Advice for Business Scheme, CILT members can ensure SMEs get the advice they need to re-orientate, re-plan and relaunch over the coming months.

CILT is calling on its members who are independent consultants or advisers to give SMEs one hour of free advice per month until the end of the year. This will be provided via the Enterprise Nation platform, an online platform that many SMEs already use as a means to connect with advisers.

Enterprise Nation is providing free access to its platform until December 31st 2020 to enable SMEs to connect with a commmunity of business advisers volunteering to help them overcome this challenging period.

To get involved you need to:

  1. Register as a Business Adviser volunteer by completing this form and enter this coupon code CILTPLUS2020.
  2. Complete your profile on Enterprise Nation by uploading a photo, add copy to your bio to show your support and include your company details.  The more information you provide, the more SMEs will understand how your advice can help them.
  3. Upload a valid professional indemnity insurance that will be verified by Enterprise Nation.

Further information and advice on the scheme can be found here.

NB: As an Institute, CILT is keen to support initiatives that deliver benefits to society and the UK economy. Whilst supporting the scheme, CILT is not involved in the Enterprise Nation platform or any subsequent engagement between advisers and SMEs.
