The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and ITN Productions Industry News have co-produced a new fast-turnaround report series #HiddenHeroes.
The series showcases how the logistics and transport profession is responding in a huge national effort to meet the demands of the global pandemic crisis.
As the country witnessed an unprecedented medical challenge, the profession played an integral role in providing an unprecedented logistical response to support it. Acting swiftly to meet the increase in demand from supply chains, the logistics sector collaborated to keep the country going with companies offering spare capacity, vehicles, planning, warehousing and logistics and supply chain expertise to improve lives.
As many businesses across the country were forced to come to a halt, logistics companies have been working harder than ever before.
Asendia radically changed their operating environment and altered their output in a matter of just a few weeks, to ensure the timely delivery of PPE around the UK and Europe.
DHL and
Teletrac Navman demonstrated their commitment to helping improve lives during the pandemic by ensuring essential supplies were transported the length and breadth of Britain.
Kevin Richardson, Chief Executive, CILT, said: “We are once again delighted to have worked with ITN Productions to deliver this series of short films that highlights the important work happening within logistics, supply chains and operations, during this unprecedented time.”
Elizabeth Fisher-Robins, Head of ITN Productions Industry News, said: “We’re really excited by the opportunity to work with CILT to create an inspirational series that showcases the amazing response by the logistics and transport industry to provide essential life-critical medication, products, food, the list is endless, to protect lives.”
The programme features key interviews and reports with sponsored editorial profiles from leading companies Asendia, DHL and Teletrac Navman and forms part of a communications campaign including the CILT network and industry partners.
