DEFRA develops the Digital Assistance Scheme

24 February 2021/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain, Operations Management, Ports, Maritime & Waterways, Brexit

The Digital Assistance Scheme is intended to support the continued movement of agri-food goods and live animals from Great Britain to Northern Ireland after the end of the current grace period on 31st of March 2021.

DEFRA has written to CILT to ask its members to partake in workshops aimed at the further development of the Digital Assistance Scheme.

Further details of the workshops including how to register can be found here

The 90-minute workshops are open to any business which trades in agri-food goods and live animals from GB to NI.

The workshops will help design, develop and test these systems.

Participation aims to ensure they meet the needs of industry.

DEFRA will recognise your operating model, understand the issues you face, and use this as the building block for the digital systems we will be creating. Your active involvement will ensure these systems will work for business in the best possible way.
