Defra has invited CILT members to join the NI-GB Food Supply Chain Forum and attend the upcoming webinar 'Expert Panel – Q&A Live Session for Hospitality Sector Traders'.
NI-GB Food Supply Chain Forum
Defra are establishing a new industry forum for all businesses within the agri-food supply chain and moving goods between Great Britain (GB) and Northern Ireland (NI).
The NI-GB Food Supply Chain Forum aims to create a community for open discussion of issues affecting business. It will focus on operational implementation issues in the main and ensure the open communication of relevant policy and delivery developments associated with movements into and from NI.
The new forum will be an important opportunity for businesses, organisations, industry bodies and government partners across the entire agri-food supply chain from GB to NI and NI to GB.

Expert Panel – Q&A Live Session for Hospitality Sector Traders
Defra have arranged a live question and answer (Q&A) session on Tuesday 18 May 2021 at 10am, to help traders moving goods from GB to NI for the hospitality sector, who may be unsure of the requirements for moving their goods and have questions about the process.
As a trader moving products of animal origin, composite products, food and feed of non-animal origin and plants and plant products from Great Britain to Northern Ireland, there are rules you must follow, including the need for your goods to be accompanied by the correct official certification and the pre-notification of your point of entry ahead of their arrival in Northern Ireland.
The Scheme for Temporary Agri-food Movements to Northern Ireland (STAMNI) arrangements is only for goods destined solely for sale to end consumers in supermarkets located in Northern Ireland. Therefore, if you are an Authorised Trader, you must ensure your goods destined for hospitality are supported with the correct certification.
The Live Q&A session on 18 May provides you with an opportunity to get any questions you may have about moving your goods - and the process you need to follow - answered by a panel of experts. You will also be able to find out about the support available to you.
