Updated information on entry into Germany and France

02 June 2021/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain, Ports, Maritime & Waterways, Coronavirus

From midnight on Sunday 30th May, people travelling to Germany from Great Britain (GB) and Northern Ireland (NI) may only enter the country if they are a German citizen or resident.

From 23rd May hauliers on a direct journey from the UK to Germany must show proof of a negative LFD test taken within 24 hours prior to departure. Once they are in Germany, hauliers are only exempt from quarantine requirements if they are in Germany for less than 72 hours.

The French government has also announced that from midnight on Monday 31st May, travellers from the UK to France will be told to self-isolate for a week after arrival into France; however hauliers / transport industry workers are exempt from this requirement at this stage.
